Victor S. K. Houston

Victor Stewart Kaleoaloha Houston ( born July 22, 1876 in San Francisco, California, † July 31, 1959 in Honolulu, Hawaii ) was an American politician. Between 1927 and 1933 he represented as a delegate the Hawaii Territory in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Early years

After primary school attended Victor Houston foreign schools, as the school in Dresden in Saxony and the district school in Lausanne, Switzerland. After he graduated from the Force School in Washington. After all, he was a cadet at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis. After the successful completion of this academy, he was until 1926 a member of the U.S. Navy, where he served in various ranks. Since 1909 he has been resident in Hawaii.

Political career

Victor Houston was a member of the Republican Party. In the congressional elections of 1926, he was elected against the Democratic incumbent William Paul Jarrett as a delegate to Congress. After two elections in 1928 and 1930, he was able to exercise this mandate between 4 March 1927, March 3, 1933. In 1928 and 1932 he was a delegate to the Republican National Conventions relevant. In the 1932 elections, he was defeated by Democrat Lincoln Loy McCandless.

Further CV

After the end of his time in the U.S. House of Representatives to Houston retired from politics. However, he was reactivated after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 as a naval officer. During World War II he remained until March 1, 1945 in the U.S. Navy. Then he went back into retirement. Victor Houston died in 1959 in Honolulu.
