Vígľašská Huta-Kalinka

Vígľašská Huta - Kalinka is a town in central Slovakia with 364 inhabitants (as at 31 December 2011), which is in Okres Detva, part of Banskobystrický kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located in the mountains Javorie on the left bank of the creek Kocan. The center is located at an altitude of 580 m nm and is 18 kilometers from Detva and 23 km away from Zvolen.

History

Today's church was formed in 1926 by the merger of formerly independent places Vígľašská Huta (Hungarian Végleshuta ) and Kalinka (Hungarian Kálnok ).

The former town was founded in the first half of the 18th century from a few isolated farms around the local glassworks, which originated in the 17th century and in 1654 the name Viglo Huta was because she was in the estate of Vígľaš. 1773 is mentioned the name Vigles Huta. 1828 are listed 87 houses and 651 inhabitants. The eponymous glassworks was set to half of the 19th century, after agriculture and animal husbandry was the main source of income of the inhabitants.

Kalinka was created in the same period and in 1786 as Kalina mentioned. Shaped the location was a sulfur mine under the mountain Lysec 960 m nm, which worked in the 19th century. 1828 are listed 30 houses and 230 inhabitants.

Until 1918, belonged to the lying in the county Sohl place the Kingdom of Hungary and came after Czechoslovakia or Slovakia today. Its peak the community had before the Second World War, when it was inhabited 1937 1.700 inhabitants and there were three schools. Successive waves of emigration after the Second World War brought the population back to about 350 residents.

Vígľašská Huta - Kalinka is the locality of the mineral Hauerite.
