Viiratsi Parish

Viiratsi ( German: Wieratz ) is a rural municipality in the east of the Estonian county of Viljandi with an area of 213 km ². It has 3,746 inhabitants ( 2006).

In addition to the main town Viiratsi (1350 inhabitants) includes the rural community of the villages Jõeküla, Kibeküla, Kuudeküla, Loime, Mäeltküla, Mähma, Rebaste, Ridaküla, Ruudiküla, Saareküla, Surva, Tusti, Tõnuküla, Tänassilma, Uusna, Valma, Vana- Võidu, Vanavälja, Vardja, Vasara and Verilaske. There are community partnerships with Juankoski in Finland and in Sweden Malung.

In the northeast, the rural municipality borders the Võrtsjärv. Worth seeing are the Gutshausanlage of Vana- Võidu from the early 19th century, which now houses a vocational school, as well as the former Orthodox church of Tänassilma that has been partially renovated.
