Viking IK

The Viking IK was a Norwegian ice hockey club from Stavanger. The team existed from 1968 to 1996 and played a long time in the Elite series, the highest Norwegian league.

History

The Viking Ishockeyklubb was founded in 1968. From 1978 to 1996, the professional team of the club played continuously in the highest Norwegian league. Although the team in the season 1995/96 managed to avoid relegation in the Elitserien, but the team went on the end of the season in bankruptcy. The Traditions of the association was then continued by Viking Hockey.
