1995–96 Eliteserien season
The 1995/96 season was the 57th season of the Elite series, the highest Norwegian ice hockey league. Master became the second overall time in club history Storhamar Ishockey.

Mode
In the main round each of the eight teams completed a total of 28 games. The top six teams qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. The two last placed the main round had to compete against the top four teams in the second division in the relegation. The playoffs were first played in two groups of three teams. The top two teams in each group qualified for the play-off semi-finals. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
