1991–92 Eliteserien season
The 1991/92 season was the 53rd season of the Elite series, the highest Norwegian ice hockey league. Master became the 17th overall time in club history Vålerenga Ishockey. Frisk Asker and Hasle- Løren Idrettslag descended to the second division.

Mode
In the Grunnserien each of the ten teams played a total of 18 games. The top eight teams qualified for the Elite series, while the two last placed descended to the second division. The top six teams in the Elite series qualified for the play-off second round, where the Master was played. The playoffs were first played in two groups of three teams. The top two teams in each group qualified for the play-off semi-finals. For a win, each team was given two points, a draw there was a point and a defeat.
