Viktor Chernov

Viktor Mikhailovich Chernov (Russian Виктор Михайлович Чернов, scientific transliteration Viktor Michajlovič Černov; * 19 Novemberjul / December 1 1873greg in Kamyshin in the government of Saratov, .. † April 15, 1952 in New York), pseudonyms Jul. Gardenin, W. sealed. Tutschkin and Boris Olenin, was the founder of the Socialist-Revolutionary Party and Agriculture Minister in the Provisional Government in Russia.

Life

Chernov was active from 1893 as a revolutionary in Russia. He wrote the party program of the Socialist-Revolutionary Party and founded the party in 1902. In the party he belonged to the Central Committee and was from 1902 to 1905 the editor of the organ of the party, the newspaper Rewoljuzionnaja Rossiya ( Revolutionary Russia). He also was a member of the editorial board of the newspaper Delo Naroda.
