Viktor Zubkov
Viktor Alekseyevich Zubkov (Russian Виктор Алексеевич Зубков; born September 15, 1941 in Arbat, Rajon Kushva in the Sverdlovsk Oblast ) is a Russian politician and Deputy First Prime Minister since 2008. From September 2007 to May 2008, he was a Russian prime minister.
Viktor Zubkov was head of the Financial Services Authority of the Russian Ministry of Finance until he was nominated by President Vladimir Putin on 12 September 2007 as successor to Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov, who had recently resigned. This proposal was submitted to the Duma to confirm. After this had given their consent, President Putin Victor Zubkov appointed on 14 September 2007 as head of government.
Career
His professional career began in 1958 as Zubkov locksmith in mining combine Seweronikel in the northern Russian town of Monchegorsk. In 1960 he began studying at the Faculty of Economics of the Agricultural Institute in Pushkin, from which he graduated in 1965. Following the studies he starts his military service until 1967.
From 1967 to 1982 he worked as a senior executive in various state farms in the Leningrad Oblast in 1967 he accepted a position as head of the state farm Krasnaya Slavyanka.
