Vilde Frang

Vilde Bjærke ( born August 19, 1986 in Oslo, Norway) is a Norwegian violinist.

Life

Vilde began playing the violin at the age of four years. In school, she was trained, among others, by Stephan Barratt -Due from Oslo Barratt - Due Institute of Music. She then studied at the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hamburg with Kolja Blacher and 2009 with Ana Chumachenco at the Kronberg Academy in the Hessian town of Kronberg im Taunus.

At the age of ten years Frang debuted at the Norwegian Radio Orchestra, the Kringkastingsorkestret, with the Carmen Fantasy by Pablo de Sarasate. Two years later she was invited by Mariss Jansons as a soloist at a concert of the Philharmonic, Oslo. They also played on tour in Europe and the U.S. together with Anne- Sophie Mutter.

As an interpreter of chamber music Frang played with Martha Argerich, Renaud Capuçon and Gautier Capuçon, Julian Rachlin, Gidon Kremer, Yuri Bashmet and the Norwegian Leif Ove Andsnes, Lars Anders Tomter and Truls Mørk. She also appeared as a soloist with, among others, Maxim Vengerov as a conductor.

Frang 2004 was a finalist in the competition Euro Vision Young Musicians of the European Broadcasting Union ( EBU) in Lucerne, Switzerland. In June 2011, she played in the violin master classes at the Kronberg Academy in the Kronberger John's Church together with Mikhail Lifits on piano.

She plays a violin by Jean Baptiste Vuillaume, which provide it with the Friends of Anne -Sophie Mutter Foundation is available (as of July 2011).
