Similarly successful Marquis was in the following season 2008/09. After a win on January 24, 2009 at Mont Gabriel followed five top -10 results, which in turn resulted in the 3rd place in the discipline standings. At the 2009 World Championships in Inawashiro he won the bronze medal in moguls, while he finished fourth in dual moguls competition.

With a 2nd place to Marquis could qualify for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. In Olympic competition in Cypress Mountain, he missed almost a fourth medal.
