Vincenzo Grifo

Vincenzo Grifo (born 7 April 1993 in Pforzheim ) is an Italian football player who is used primarily central or left midfield. His family is originally from Sicily and Puglia.

Career

Clubs

He was already three and a half years at the former VfR Pforzheim on the training ground. There he played up to the D- youth. In the C - Youth and Youth B played at Germania Brötzingen and returned in 2010 in the A- youth association of the successor to the first CfR Pforzheim back. In summer 2011, he joined the U-19 league to the A- youth of the Karlsruher SC. There he convinced by strong performances. In 19 games, he hit six times and prepared ten goals before. In May 2012, he signed then a two -year contract with Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim until the end of June 2014, but was obliged for the squad of the second team. There he established himself at the beginning of the Regionalliga 2012/13 season as a regular player and immediately scored in the first six games, five goals. On 19 October 2012, the 8th round of the Bundesliga season 2012/13, he was in the home match against SpVgg Greuther Fürth for the first time in the Bundesliga squad. In the 3-3 draw he replaced by Markus Babbel in the 70th minute for Takashi Usami. A week later, his contract was extended for two years until 30 June 2016.

For the second half of the 2013/14 season Grifo was loaned to the end of the season at Dynamo Dresden.

National

Grifo debuted on September 6, 2013 game against Switzerland in the Italian U-20 national team. In this game, he also scored his first goal in the national jersey.
