Vinny Golia

Vinny Golia (* March 1, 1946 in Bronx, New York City ) is an American saxophonist (soprano, baritone and tenor saxophone) and clarinetist and composer and band leader of the Free and Creative jazz, free improvisation and contemporary music.

Work

In the 1970s, Golia caused a stir as a multi- instrumentalist; with its smaller ensembles and big bands he toured the United States, also occurred in Europe and Japan. In 1982 he formed the 37 musicians Vinny Golia Large Ensemble comprehensive, which began its compositions. He lives in Los Angeles and teaches at the California Institute of the Arts.
