Virgin Islands at the 1988 Winter Olympics
The U.S. Virgin Islands participated in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary with a delegation of six athletes ( four men, two women ) in three sports. It was the first participation in the Olympic Winter Games. Flag bearer at the opening ceremony was an alpine skier Jodie Lawaetz. John Foster sr. , Who started in the two-, was in 1972, 1976 and 1984 as a sailor in the Olympic Summer Games for the U.S. Virgin Islands at the start.
