Višňové, Nové Mesto nad Váhom District

Višňové ( until 1927 slovak also " Visnove "; Hungarian Alsóvisnyó - to 1907 Visnyó ) is a municipality in western Slovakia. It is about 15 kilometers west of Nové Mesto nad Váhom and about to the east of Myjava 15 in the hills of the Little Carpathians in the Čachtické Karpaty. The village was mentioned around 1392 for the first time in recorded history. The castle ruins Čachtice is located on the adjacent hills.
