Vistabella (Tarragona)

Vista Bella is a little haven of the municipality of La Secuita in Catalonia (Spain). It has 165 inhabitants (2011) and is located in the province of Tarragona.

Location

Bella Vista is located about 1 km east of the national road N 240, and Tarragona, and thus to the coast there are to the south about 15 km. To Autovia A27 to the west, is about 5 km.

History

The original agricultural farm was formerly occupied by the monastery Santes Creus. 1298 belonged to one half the archbishop and the chapter of Tarragona and the other half of the aforementioned monastery.

Attractions

The Church Sagrat cor ( "Sacred Heart " ), built in the years 1918-1924 in the style of Modernisme was built by the architect Josep Maria Jujol. On a square plan, it houses a vault on the basis of Parabolbögen and free-standing columns. The dome is hexagonal. The interior of the three inputs has is equipped with extraordinary stucco. In addition, are to be seen in the village several medieval streets lined with houses from the 17th and 18th centuries.
