Vitali Prokhorov

Vitaly Vladimirovich Prokhorov (Russian Виталий Владимирович Прохоров; born December 25, 1966 in Moscow, Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player.

Career

During his Soviet times he played at HK Spartak Moscow. NHL Entry Draft 1992, he was selected in the 3rd round to 64th place by the St. Louis Blues. In 1992 he then moved to the Blues in the National Hockey League. In 1996 he went back to Russia and played up to the 2000/01 season in the Russian league. 1995/96 he spent a season in the Swedish League, 1998/99, one in Switzerland.

On April 2, 1990, he was appointed to the Soviet national ice hockey team. Later he became a member of the United team after the collapse of the Soviet Union. His international career was crowned with the gold medal at the Olympic Winter Games in 1992. He was inducted into the "Russian Hockey Hall of Fame " in 1992.
