Vítězslav Tuma

Vítězslav Tuma ( born July 4, 1971 in Nový Jičín, Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech football player.

Career

Vítězslav Tuma began playing football in his hometown at TJ Nový Jičín. At age 18, joined the 1.90 meter tall striker for FC Vitkovice. In 1991 he went to VTJ Znojmo, there to do his military service. From there Tuma joined the Sabah Rhinos in the Malaysian League, where his countryman Jaroslav Netolička played. After just one season Tuma returned to FC Vitkovice, but was again only a year. He was obliged by local rivals Banik Ostrava, where he only scored in one and a half seasons four goals in 26 matches. During the winter break 1995/96 Tuma went to SK LeRK Prostějov in the Second Division.

The breakthrough came in the migrant bird until its next station in the game year 1996/97, FC Karviná, for whom he scored ten goals in 21 games. The descent of his team could not prevent the center-forward yet. In the second division Tuma had a sensational run, get him 19 goals in 22 games. Then he was bound by the first division Petra Drnovice and did not disappoint. In the seasons 1998/99 and 1999/2000 he succeeded each eleven goals. In the 2000 /01 season Tuma was at the height of his career, with 15 goals, he was top scorer in the Czech upper house.

Although Tuma counted in those years to the best strikers in the Czech league, he was not called to the national team. Against him spoke to a strong competition from players such as Jan Koller, Vratislav Lokvenc or Vladimír Šmicer, on the other hand be relatively old age. With over 30 years now, he was no longer considered a promising player.

In the summer of 2001, Tuma agreed with the Chinese club Chongqing Lifan to a treaty that would guarantee him $ 20,000 a month. He flew to China, but contrary to previous agreements he should complete two week test. Tuma refused and returned to the Czech Republic. In the 2001 /02 season he scored nine goals in 19 games for Drnovice before he was sold a few weeks left in the season for financial reasons, together with eight other players at Marila Pribram, which loaned him to Sparta Prague. In Prague, Tuma could not prevail and played from mid-2002 in Pribram, but where he did not even make it to the starting grid. During the winter break 2002/ 03 he was sold to Sigma Olomouc, but to his old form, he was not able even there. In summer 2003, Tuma eventually moved to his former club FK Drnovice, who played now in the second division. To climb his team Tuma contributed four goals, but finished his career after that season because of continuing problems with his left knee.
