Viviane Wade

Viviane Wade, born Vert, (* September 13 1932 in Besançon) is the wife of Abdoulaye Wade, the former President of Senegal. This made her the first lady of Senegal.

Life

She was born in France and grew up there as well. Abdoulaye Wade, she met in 1952 during their studying philosophy at the University of Besançon know. In 1963 she got married and settled down together in Senegal. Her husband was opposition leader and finally elected in 2000 as president of the country. They have two children, son Karim Wade and daughter Sindjely Wade. Although her ​​husband is Muslim, Viviane Wade remained Catholic.
