Vladas MicheleviÄius
Vladislovas Michelevičius ( born June 8, 1924 in Kačiūniškė at Raudondvaris, Lithuania, † November 12, 2008 in Kaunas) was a Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Kaunas and Vilkaviškis.
Life
He learned at the Jesuit High School Kaunas. Vlada Michelevičius ordained a priest on October 31, 1948 for the Archdiocese of Kaunas.
In 1986 he was appointed by Pope John Paul II, titular bishop of Thapsus and appointed auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Kaunas and in the Diocese of Vilkaviškis. He received his episcopal consecration Bishop Liudas Povilonis, Apostolic Administrator in Vilkaviškis on December 7, 1986; Co-consecrators were the administrator in Kaišiadorys and later Archbishop of Kaunas, Vincentas Sladkevičius, and Antanas Vaičius, Bishop of Telšiai.
From 1968 to 1996 taught at the seminary Kaunas from 1989 to 1990 he was rector.
In 1989 he joined the office of auxiliary bishop in Vilkaviškis back, but was Auxiliary Bishop of Kaunas and was appointed vicar general. From 1989 to 1990 he was rector of the seminary in Kaunas ( " Kauno kunigų seminarija "). His old conditional resignation from the office of auxiliary bishop in Kaunas took John Paul II 1999.
