Vladimir Bortko

Vladimir Vladimirovich Bortko (Russian: Владимир Владимирович Бортко; born May 7, 1946 in Moscow ) is a Russian writer, actor, producer and director.

Life

Bortko studied at the State Geological Institute in Kiev and served after graduating from 1965 to 1966 when the Soviet military. He then worked until 1969 as an electrician. In 1974, he completed his training at drama school KGITI and worked in the sequence at the Dovzhenko studios in Kiev. From 1980 he worked as a director at Lenfilm. With his film Blondinka sa uglom ( blonde behind the corner) he gained notoriety throughout the Eastern Bloc. For the film adaptation of Mikhail Bulgakov's narrative Dog Heart he was awarded the Grand Prix of Perugia.

Vladimir Bortko is married and has a son.
