Vladimir Ovchinnikov (pianist)

Vladimir Pavlovich Ovchinnikov (Russian: Владимир Павлович Овчинников; born January 2, 1958 in the Bashkir ASSR ) is a Russian pianist, the highest prices both at the Tchaikovsky International Music Competition in Moscow ( 1982 ) and the International Piano Competition in Leeds (1987 ) has won.

Ovchinnikov is a professor at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and visiting professor at the University Sakuyo in Japan. He was honored by President Putin of Russia with the title People's Artist of Russia in 2005 and 2011, he was Chairman of the Jury of the International Rotary Music Competition in Moscow. In the same year he was appointed director of the Central Music School at the Moscow Conservatory.
