Vladimir Zeldin

Vladimir Mikhailovich Seldin (Russian: Владимир Михайлович Зельдин; * 28 Januarjul / February 10 1915greg in Kozlov, today Michurinsk. . ) Is a Russian actor.

Biography

Seldin was born the son of a trombonist and a teacher. 1920 the family moved during the Russian Civil War to Tver and 1924 finally to Moscow. After the completion of the local grammar school Seldin worked as a locksmith apprentice and attended an acting course at Mossoviet Theatre. Since 1945 he is working at the Russian Army Theater. Among other things, he played there for a long time the main role in the staging of Lope de Vega's play "The Dancing Master ". Also in the film adaptation of this piece played with Seldin. In 2005, staged July Gusman the musical Man of La Mancha, is to Seldins 90th birthday in the Seldin as Don Quixote on stage.

As an actor he gained after his first role in Ivan Pyrjews comedy " They met in Moscow " national prominence.

He is the oldest living folk artist of the USSR.

Vladimir Zeldin is married his third wife with Carleencat Evgenevna Kapralowa since 1964. The marriage remained childless.

Vladimir Zeldin is an avid football fan and supporter of the club CSKA Moscow. He is a strict teetotaler and Non smoking.
