Voderady

Voderady (Hungarian Vedrőd ) is a municipality in western Slovakia with 1380 inhabitants ( 31 December 2011), which belongs to Okres Trnava, a part of the Trnavský kraj.

Geography

The municipality is located on the edge of the hill country Trnavská pahorkatina (part of the Slovak Danube lowland ) on the river and its left tributary Gidra Ronava. The municipal area is largely deforested and covered with black and Auböden and therefore suitable for agriculture. The center is located at an altitude of 134 m nm and is 12 kilometers south of Trnava.

Neighboring municipalities are Slovenská Nová Ves and Zelenec in the north, Majcichov in the east, the south and Pavlice Velky Grob in the West.

History

Voderady was first mentioned in 1243 as Wederad. The village often changed its owners, in the 18th century, it was administered by the Zichys who built a country castle here. 1828 there were 87 houses in the village and 647 residents who were mostly engaged in agriculture.

Until 1918, belonged to the county located in the Bratislava city of the Kingdom of Hungary and was then Czechoslovakia or Slovakia today. 1974-1990 the neighboring towns Pavlice and Slovenská Nová Ves were a part of the community.

Population

According to the 2011 census lived in Voderady 1,384 inhabitants, of whom 1,334 Slovaks, 14 Roma, Czechs seven and one Bulgarian, German, Magyar, Moravians and Serb. 21 inhabitants did not know. 1,153 inhabitants belonged to the Roman Catholic Church, the six residents of the Evangelical Church AB and apostolic church, five residents for evangelistic church and one population to the Greek Catholic Church, the New Apostolic Church and Czechoslovak- Hussite church; two residents were of a different denomination. 94 residents were non-denominational and 112 inhabitants, the denomination is not determined.

Economy

Northeast, but still belonging to the municipality of Voderady is an industrial park, where since 2007, Samsung's factory for the production of LCD modules, including supplier firms is established. In order to improve the connection junction Voderady opened in 2009 at the 44th kilometer of the highway D1.

On October 30, 2013 outlet store called One Fashion Outlet was opened in the district Jozefov dvor.
