Volfířov

Volfířov ( German Wolfers ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located six kilometers north-west of Dačice and belongs to Okres Jindřichův Hradec.

Geography

Volfířov located in the southwest of Moravia in the Javořická Highlands at the confluence of the Radlický and Řečický creek to creek Volfířovský.

Neighboring towns are Šach and Řečice in the north, and Lipová Prostřední Vydří in the northeast, Kostelní Vydří in the east, Dolni Němčice to the southeast, and Hostkovice Lipolec in the south, Markvarec the southwest, Lipnice in the west and Radlice in the northwest.

History

The village was first mentioned in 1349 as a possession of the brothers Bohuněk and Mikuláš of Volfířov. Volfířov formed an independent hereditary Landesgut which included a stronghold and the Freihofstraße since the 14th century. First news of the church date from 1366 and since that time Volfířov was also vicarage. 1420 acquired Ulrich V. Neuhaus possession and hit him the Good Bílkov to. 1459 acquired the Kraiger of Kraigk Bílkov including Volfířov. 1551 held the Reformation catchment and in 1662 the city was a center of Calixtins. 1662 Volfířov was incorporated into the dominion Dačice. 1776 a major fire destroyed a part of the place.

After the replacement of patrimonial Volfířov in 1848 for the independent community to which the monolayer Nové Dvory belonged.

The community Volfířov consists of the districts Brandlín ( Brandlin ) Lipová ( Lipowa ), Poldovka ( Leopold village), Radlice ( Radlitz ) Řečice ( Rötschitz ) Šach ( chess), Velka Lhota ( Großlhota ) and Volfířov ( Wolfers ) and the settlements Nové Dvory and Sádky.

Attractions

  • Church of St. Peter and Paul, the early Gothic building from the period around 1300 was rebuilt in 1600. 1767 was a re- conversion, in which the church also received the tower
  • Built the two Protestant churches in Velka Lhota, which was upper 1868 and lower 1784
