Volker Hubertus Maria Valentin von Mitschke - Collande (born 21 November 1913 in Dresden, † October 29, 1990 in Hannover ) was a German actor, screenwriter and director.

Family

Volker von Collande came from a Silesian noble family and was the son of the painter Constantin von Mitschke - Collande (1884-1956) and his first wife Hilde Wiecke (1892-1984), whose father was actor and theater director Paul Wiecke in Dresden.

Collande married his first marriage on 29 October 1936 in Berlin- Wilmersdorf Ingeborg Hertel ( born June 25, 1917 in Berlin ), the daughter of an engineer Paul Hertel and his wife Hedwig. They were divorced on 30 July 1938 in Berlin.

His second wife he married on April 13, 1939 in Berlin -Dahlem, the dance teacher Gisela Hartwig called Naso ( born December 20, 1917 in Berlin, † February 6, 2008 in Frankfurt am Main ), the daughter of the writer Eckart von Naso Hartwig called (1888-1976), head of dramaturgy at the Württemberg State Theatre in Stuttgart, and his wife Ursula born of Witzendorff ( 1895-1945 ). Finally he married in fourth marriage on 16 December 1950, the elocution teacher and voice therapist Irene Nathusius ( born March 29, 1928 in Hamburg), daughter of the businessman Walter Berthold Nathusius and Gerda Maria Schurig. Their daughter Nora of Collande is also an actress and author.

His sister Gisela of Collande (1915-1960) was a famous actress.

Volker von Collande was buried in the cemetery Ohlsdorf.

Life

Collande made ​​initially as a bricklayer and then completed an architecture degree from the State School Dresden. Only then he took acting lessons and made his debut in 1933 at the Deutsches Theater Berlin as Valentin in Faust. In the same year he began as an assistant director and broadcaster in Stuttgart. In the era of National Socialism was Collande member of the NSDAP.

In the following years he worked as a theater actor in Berlin and in 1947 in Saarbrücken and in the 1950s at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg.

He also worked since 1933 as an actor in over 30 feature films, as a screenwriter and as a director of films and radio plays.
