Voltaire (musician)
Voltaire ( born January 25, 1967 in Havana, Aurelio Voltaire Hernandez full name ) is a musician, which is close to the American Gothic scene. During his childhood, his family emigrated from Cuba to New Jersey. In addition to his work as a musician Voltaire worked as a product designer, stop motion film animator, comic and author. He is also a lecturer at the School of Visual Arts in New York.
Voltaire is known primarily as a solo artist and is supported both in the studio live from various other musicians. The line-up in 2008 consisted of Voltaire (vocals and acoustic guitar), Gregor Kitzis (violin and mandolin ), Matthew Goeke (cello), Glenn Sorino (drums ) and Franz Nicoleay (accordion).
