Vorderwald mountain is a scattered settlement in the Upper Pinzgau, the rear Salzach valley in the district of Zell am See / Pinzgau, and town in the municipality Wald im Pinzgau, on the southern edge of the Kitzbühel Alps.

Geography

The settlements with about 90 inhabitants and 30 houses are up the valley of forest in the Salzach Valley, on the south side of the Salzach, the front mountain forest, between 950 m and 1300 m above sea level. A. on Old Gerlosstraße B 165

History

Vorderwald mountain situated at the old mule track from Mittersill as a commercial node via the Gerlos Pass ( Pinzgauer height ) to Zell am Ziller. It was expanded in 1631 to the wagon trail.
