The Vorskla ( Russian and Ukrainian Ворскла ) is a left tributary of the Dnieper River in the eastern lowlands with a length of 464 km and a catchment area of ​​14,700 km ².

It rises in the western foothills of the central Russian back in Iwnja northwest of the Russian Oblasthauptstadt Belgorod. From its source it flows in a southwesterly direction to the Ukraine, with the right bank of deep cuts into the Poltava Plateau in the middle reaches. The Vorskla Poltava in the discharges into the dammed reservoir to Dniprodserschynsker Dnepr.

Tributaries are Worsklyzja (Russian Worskliza ) and Boromlja ( right) and Merla, Kolomak, and Tahamlyk (left). Along the river there are several nature reserves. The river is navigable between the mouth and Kobeljaky.

Larger towns on the Vorskla Poltava are, Ochtyrka and Kobeljaky. In 1399 the region was the Battle of the Vorskla stood.
