Vuktyl
Wuktyl ( Komi and Russian Вуктыл, scientific transliteration Vuktyl ) is a city in the northwestern Russian republic of Komi with 12,356 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).
Geography
The city is located in the foothills of Nordurals about 575 km north-east of the Republic capital Syktyvkar on the right bank of the Pechora, near the mouth of the eponymous creek Wuktyl.
Wuktyl the Republic is administratively subordinated directly. It has a beautiful 22,480 km ² large sparsely populated territory.
The city is connected by road with the 230 km distant city Sosnogorsk on the Pechora Railroad.
History
Wuktyl was done in 1968 in connection with the development of a natural gas condensate field and received city rights in 1989.

Culture and sights
Northeast of the city extends almost two million acres of National Park Jugyd Wa, whose office is located at Wuktyl. The park was founded on 23 April 1994, since 1995 a UNESCO World Heritage area forests of Komi.
Along the bank of the Pechora remains of several prehistoric settlements have been found.
The members of the city Podtscherje village there is a local history museum.
Economy
The main industry is the production of natural gas. Here, the natural gas pipeline Nord light begins ( Sewernoje sijanije ) Wuktyl - Ukhta - Torzhok. There are also timber industry and agriculture in the area of local importance.
