Wachsenburggemeinde

The Wachsenburggemeinde was a municipality in the northwest of the Ilm -Kreis, in Thuringia, about 20 km south-west of the state capital Erfurt located. It existed from 1994 to 2012.

Geography

The territory of the former Wachsenburggemeinde is located at the junction of the middle Thuringian Forest, the Thuringian basin at the southern edge of the plate Ohrdrufer. It is crossed to east by two mountain ranges of Eichenberg -Gotha - Saalfeld fault zone, have led to interesting geological phenomena whose formation, as they can be observed, for example, at the source of salt in aspic bridges and at the quarry in Haarhausen West.

In the center of the municipality is lying on a cone-shaped mountain, which is about 150 meters from the environment stands out that Grow Veste Castle, one of three of a kind, as a name.

Neighboring communities of Wachsenburggemeinde were (as at 30 December 2012) clockwise starting in the north: Nesse - Apfelstädt, Ichterhausen, Arnstadt, Gossel, Wölfis, three of a kind.

Community structure

The community consisted of five hamlets, were all independent communities until their formation on 30 June 1994. These are:

  • Bittstädt (600 inhabitants)
  • Haarhausen ( 594 inhabitants)
  • Holzhausen ( 611 inhabitants)
  • Röhrensee (214 inhabitants)
  • Aspic bridges (641 inhabitants)

Policy

Mayor of the municipality was during the entire period of its existence, Hans Ullrich ( CDU).

The district brawn bridges possessed additionally a Ortschaftsrat with six members as well as with Ludwig Frank (SPD ) via a local mayor. The other districts did not have such a structure.

History

The field of Wachsenburggemeinde one of the oldest settlements in Thuringia. First settlements are detectable from the 4th or 5th century. The districts Bittstädt, Haarhausen and Holzhausen were first documented in the year 786. From the 17th to the early 20th century were the villages of the church today (up to Röhrensee, which belonged to Prussia temporarily ) part of the duchy of Saxe -Gotha or Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Then they came to the district or Arnstadt (1952 ) to the circle Arnstadt, which was to become the Ilm-Kreis 1994.

The need for streamlining the administration structures led soon after the German reunification in the formation of the joint management Wachsenburggemeinde, which resulted in the founding of the Wachsenburggemeinde 1994.

On December 31, 2012, Wachsenburggemeinde was incorporated by Ichterhausen and renamed, this enlarged community in Office Wachsenburggemeinde.

Religions

The locations of the former Wachsenburggemeinde are influenced by Protestantism in the 16th century. In each of the five districts, there are a Lutheran church.

Economy and infrastructure

Economy

The villages of the former municipality are dominated by agriculture since its inception. After 1990, several small businesses have settled. The largest company is the Wachsenburggemeinde solid -Haus AG. There are also some from the hospitality and tourism sector, of which the hotel and restaurant on the Wachsenburggemeinde is the most important.

Traffic

The districts Haarhausen and brawn bridges have breakpoints regional train line Erfurt Arnstadt. (see also: Railway Erfurt- Ilmenau)

The Federal Highway 4 touches the northern municipality. The nearest slopes are Arnstadt West and hiking life.

Others

The Wachsenburggemeinde was prior to their inclusion after Ichterhausen the only municipality in Germany, which is called community in the name.
