Wade Trophy

The Wade Trophy is an award presented annually since 1978 prize for the best basketball player in the U.S. NCAA college league. For the award only players of Division I are taken into account, the top division of the NCAA. The Wade Trophy is named after the college coach Lily Margaret Wade, a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The trophy was first awarded to college level basketball award for women. When assigning the aspect of social role model is taken into account in addition to the sports performance as well. For the ceremony draw the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and the National Association for Girls and Women in Sports responsible.
