Waiharara

Waiharara is a small settlement at the base of Aupouri Peninsula in the Far North District of Northland Region in the North Island of New Zealand. It lies about 7 km southeast of Motutangi and 7 km north of Waipapakauri on State Highway 1 north-west extends the forest Aupouri Forest over the peninsula, and behind is the famous beach " Ninety Mile Beach ", east of the natural harbor Rangaunu Harbour.

Southwest of the village is the 35 -meter distance above sea level Lake Waiparea.

Education

The village has a primary school. The Waiharara School is a co-educational primary school for the 1st to 8th grade and in 2009 had a decile rating of 3 and 24 students. The school opened in 1901 and moved in 1949 to its present location.
