Waka Nathan

Waka Joseph Nathan ( born July 8, 1940 in Auckland, New Zealand ) is a former New Zealand rugby union player in the position of winger.

He went as a student to the Mangere Central Primary School and the Otahuhu College. In college, he played in the 1956 and 1957 in its first rugby team. Rugby club he played at the local Otahuhu RFC. At age 19, he was appointed for the first time in the national team of Auckland RFU 1959. He also toured in the same year with the selection of the New Zealand Māori through the Pacific. In 1960 he won the Ranfurly Shield with Auckland North Auckland against the RFU. Then he could with his province until 1963 to defend the Shield in 25 games.
