Walcha Shire

The Walcha Shire is located in the east of the country about 510 km north of the city of Sydney and 530 km south-west of Brisbane. The area includes 51 districts and towns, including Aberbaldie, Bergen op Zoom, Brackendale, Branga Plains, Camp Fire, The Flags, Glen Morrison, Ingleba, Kangaroo Flat, Moona Plains, Nowendoc, Orundumbie, Riamukka, St. Leonards Creek, Tia, Tuggolo, Walcha, Walcha Road, Winterbourne and Yarrowitch and parts of Niangala and Woolbrook. The administrative headquarters of the council is located in the town of Walcha in the northwest of the LGA, where about 1,600 inhabitants.

Management

The Council of Walcha has eight members who are elected by the residents of the four Wards ( two each from the Wards A, B and C). These three districts are set independently of the villages. From the circle of Councillor also the Mayor ( Mayor ) of the Council recruited.
