Walter Kingsford

Walter Kingsford ( born September 20, 1881 in Redhill, England; † February 2nd 1958 in Hollywood, California ) was a British actor.

Walter Kingsford worked in London at the theater and went to the United States later. There he joined since 1912 and in the following decades regularly on Broadway. From 1930 to 1958, he starred in supporting roles also in well over 100 films. Most Kingsford played superscript, but not always sympathetic figures. So it was used a few times in his career in roles as a politician or ruler. He played twice Napoleon III. , Also the first U.S. President George Washington, and Franz von Papen in the war drama The Hitler gang. In addition, he most frequently occurred as a doctor, as in the popular Dr. Kildare movie series in the role of Dr. Walter Carew. In the 1950s, Kingsford was seen regularly on television. He died at the age of 76 years in Hollywood.
