Waltraut Haas

Waltraud Haas, also Waltraud Haas and Haas Walt diamond - beam ( born June 9, 1927 in Vienna) is an Austrian actress and singer.

Life

The daughter of an elementary school teacher Walter Haas and his wife, Stefanie, born plaintiff, lost her father at the age of five years. Her mother operational at Schönbrunn Palace, a restaurant, so Haas grew up in the palace complex. She attended a fashion school, where she graduated with a final examination during the war. In the remake Mariandl (1961) and the sequel Mariandls Homecoming (1962 ) she played the mother. Similarly, in the Wachau Festival 2005, where her husband played the Councilor and directed. Haas was popular when she appeared in numerous musical entertainment and operetta films, including as Rößlwirtin The White Horse Inn (1960 ) with Peter Alexander Leopold, especially in the 1950s and 1960s. In the sixties, she returned frequently returned to the stage. Since 1990 she writes fairy tale books.

Waltraud Haas was in 1953 engaged with the cyclist Hugo Koblet. She was since July 28, 1966 with the actor Erwin Strahl ( 1929-2011 ) married. Director Franz Antel filmed the church marriage on July 30 in St. Gilgen at the filming of the production 00SEX on Lake Wolfgang, the wedding scene but agreed not used for filming. Their son is the theater director and actor Marcus Ray ( born July 2, 1968).

In 2008, the artist was appointed in recognition of their long and outstanding contribution to theater, film and art to the ordinary honorary member of the European Cultural Workshop ( EKW ).
