Wang Lang

Wang Lang ( simplified:王朗, traditional:王朗, Pinyin: Wáng Lǎng; * 152, † 228) was a Chinese official of the Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period.

He came from the Donghai region (东海 郡) and began his career under Tao Qian in Xuzhou Province. For a letter he wrote to the Emperor Han Lingdi, he was highly praised and appointed governor (太守) of GUIJI (会稽). But when Sun Ce GUIJI attack, Wang Lang was defeated and had to give up his city. He wanted to first withdraw from politics, but Cao Cao called him into his service. So Wang Lang served the Wei kingdom, and received under the emperor Cao Pi high positions he held until his death.

His son, Wang Su (王肃) was the father of Empress Dowager Wang Yuanji, mother of Sima Yan.
