Warisata

Warisata is a village in the department of La Paz in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

Location in near space

Warisata is the third largest town in the county ( bolivian: Municipio) Achacachi in the province Omasuyos. The village lies at an altitude of 3845 m on the southern edge of the Cordillera Muñecas, just seven kilometers as the crow flies from the " Gulf of Achacachi " in the southeastern part of Lake Titicaca.

Geography

Warisata located on the Bolivian Altiplano between the Andes mountain ranges, the Cordillera Occidental and the Cordillera Central in the west to the east. The climate of the region is derived from the altitude on the Altiplano and proximity to large water surface of Lake Titicaca, which mitigates the temperature fluctuations.

Infrastructure

Warisata is located 102 kilometers by road north-west of La Paz, the capital of the department of the same name.

From La Paz the paved highway Ruta 2 leads in a northwesterly direction 70 km to Huarina, then branches north along Ruta 16 from that reached after 23 kilometers Achacachi.
