Warren Freer

Warren Freer (* December 27, 1921, † March 29, 2013 ) was a New Zealand politician and member of the New Zealand Labour Party.

Freer represented in Parliament from 1947 to 1981, the Mount Albert electorate before he went into retirement. He was only 26 years old when he entered the Parliament. In a by-election to Parliament, he was the winner and followed Arthur Richards in office, was previously died. He retained this seat held 34 years. His successor was Helen Clark, who later became Prime Minister. He was a Minister in the Cabinet of the third Labour Government from 1972 to 1975, he held the office for commercial, industrial and energy sources. In 1974 he was a candidate for the vice-chair of the New Zealand Labour Party, but he left in the third ballot of.

1987, at the birthday celebrations of Queen Elizabeth II, he was awarded the Queen's Service Order Merit civilian for his general merits. In 1996 he moved to Noosa Shire, Sunshine Coast, Australia. In New Zealand Sandringham a park was named after him.
