Waterways Ireland

Waterways Ireland ( Irish: " Uiscebhealaí Éireann ") is an Irish- Northern Irish government channel Bewirtschaftungs Society and Navigation Authority for the whole of Ireland.

It is one of six inter-governmental agencies that were created with the Belfast Agreement of 1999. She is responsible for the management, maintenance and further development of navigable inland waterways.

Her range includes the rivers ( Rivers ) and Loughs spell, Barrow and Erne, the channel systems Grand Canal, the Royal Canal and the former Ballinamore & Ballyconnel Canal Shannon - Erne Waterway and the Shannon River.

Waterways Ireland has its principal place of business in Northern Ireland (Co. Fermanagh ) Enniskillen and regional offices in Carrick -on-Shannon, Dublin and Scarriff in the Republic of Ireland.
