Wattenbach (Inn)

The Wattenbach or Watterbach has its origin in the Tux Alps. Mölsbach and Lizumbach unite in the valley floor at the camp Walchen at an altitude of 1405 m above sea level. A. and form the Wattenbach. It flows from the Watt Lizum from south to north almost straight through the Wattental. After 11.6 km it flows into the valley community Wattens in the Inn.

Water quality

Has the water quality class of the stream throughout stage I. The water of the brook watts is needed for the Swarovski and Wattenspapierwerke. The pre-treated in both operating sewage treatment plants wastewater then passes through a culvert under the Inn in the municipal wastewater treatment plant Wastewater Association Hall in Tirol - Fritz's and then into the Inn. Use

The water of the Wadden Bach is used intensively energy technology through a total of nine hydropower plants in the creek, further water is also used in the industrial plants in the Inn Valley as process water.

Hazards

As a whitewater creek is raging in Watten and was formerly often responsible for floods, as retention areas by the V-shaped Wattental are not available. Through an intensive torrents (with two attachments collectors in the valley and a short skirt of the stream bed in the range of Wattens ) a reduction in the rate of water flow was achieved. Since then, there have been no more flooding.
