Wayde Preston

Wayde Preston (actually William Erksine Strange, born September 10, 1929 in Denver, Colorado, † February 6, 1992 in Lovelock, Nevada ) was an American actor.

Life

Preston grew up in Laramie (Wyoming) with two younger sisters ( Joan and Mary ). The parents John and Bernice Strange were both school teachers. He finished his schooling in 1947 at the Laramie High and started at the University of Wyoming with a pharmacy degree.

In 1950 he was drafted for military service and was about a year in the Korean War. He was then park ranger at Grand Teton National Park and took in rodeos in Wyoming. He also worked as a pilot for TWA. In 1956, he married Carol Ohmart - the divorce took place two years later.

After he appeared in an episode of Cheyenne with Clint Walker, Preston landed the lead role in 45 Colt, where he played the secret agent Christopher Colt. The first episode was broadcast on 18 October 1957. Preston went to Italy in the 1960s; there he worked V.A. in spaghetti westerns with. In the late 1970s he return home to the USA and he played mostly small roles - the Last Jack ' in Captain America (1991). Preston died on 6 February 1992 from colon cancer.
