Weiden bei Rechnitz (Croatian Bandol, Bandol Hungarian ) is a municipality in the district of Oberwart in Burgenland in Austria.

In the town there are a large number of members of the Burgenland- Croatian minority.

The municipality is located in southern Burgenland.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Allersdorf, Allersgraben, monk yard, Podgoria, Podler, rough bars, Rumpersdorf, Willows of Rechnitz and Zuberbach.

History

In the years 1535 Franz Batthyány brought from areas threatened by Turkish Croats as settlers in the villages of rough bars and Podler. Count Ádám Batthyány I. 1650 settled in Podler 14 predominantly Croatian families and provided them with privileges. Are likely to include the names of the families according to German and Hungary also have been among the settlers.

The place was like the rest of Burgenland to 1920/21 Hungary ( German West Hungary). Since 1898, had to be used because of Magyarization the government in Budapest the Hungarian name Bándoly. After the end of World War II German West Hungary was awarded in the Treaties of St. Germain and Trianon in 1919 Austria after tough negotiations. The municipality belongs since 1921 to the newly founded State of Burgenland (see also history of Burgenland ).

In 1971 the municipalities Allersdorf in Burgenland, monk yard, Podgoria, Podler, Rauh transom Allersgraben, Rumpersdorf and Zuberbach were merged with willows in Rechnitz.
