Weidhausen bei Coburg ( officially: Weidhausen b.Coburg ) is a municipality in the southeast of the Upper Franconian district of Coburg.

Boroughs

The municipality is divided into three districts Weidhausen:

  • Weidhausen
  • Neuensorg
  • Trübenbach

History and coat of arms

Neuensorg was 1195 Trübenbach 1289 and 1225 Weidhausen first mentioned.

Weidhausen was initially owned by the monastery Sonnenfeld, later came to the Duchy of Coburg and 1920 to Bavaria.

A manor in Weidhausen was acquired in 1651 by Georg von Erffa. From the crest of this family the two eagle wings were transferred to the municipal coat of arms.

The community part Trübenbach is represented in the coat of arms by the standing for the name part - bach wave beams.

The place Neuensorg whose inhabitants engaged with forest management is still used by the woodcutters devices, Chopping Axe, and Reuthaue symbolized.

The colors of gold and blue allude to the colors of Baron Erffa. The colors silver and red recall the membership of the entire municipal area for high pin Bamberg.

Incorporations

On January 1, 1971, the municipality Trübenbach was incorporated. Mödlitz was incorporated on 1 January 1972, but reclassified by Schneckenlohe ( district Kronach ) on 1 May 1978. Prior to the reclassification was on 1 January 1978 Neuensorg that emerged from field parts of Neuensee on February 15, 1952 included.

Spin-offs

On 1 May 1978, with parts of the territory at that time about 150 inhabitants to the neighboring community Schneckenlohe, County Kronach ceded.

Description: Through a silver wave beams divided by blue and red; above an open golden flight, diagonal crossed a silver Felling Axe and a silver Reuthaue.

The community has a town twinning to Frankfort, Illinois (USA).
