Geography
Geographical Location
The municipality is located southwest of the Franconian line and is attributable to the Obermainischen hills. In a north-south direction it is traversed by the Steinach.

History
Incorporations
Mödlitz was incorporated into Weidhausen bei Coburg on 1 January 1972. The reclassification of the place after Schneckenlohe took place on May 1, 1978, together with the inclusion of the community Beikheim and parts of the neighboring community Weidhausen bei Coburg. Already on 1 January 1977 parts of the territory of the market Marktgraitz were incorporated.

The coat of arms description reads: By a lowered been swept red top, in a silver handle of the basket, split; front seven divided by blue and silver, topped with a diagonally left bent red diamond ring, behind seven divided by gold and black, topped with a sloping, curved red diamond ring.
