Steinach at Heubisch
The Steinach is a river in Thuringia and Upper Franconia with a good 46 km in length. It is a tributary of the Unterrodach.
Course
The source of the river lies in the Thuringian Slate Mountains in Neuhaus am Rennweg. The Steinach flows through a narrow valley to the south, in which the city is located Steinach. In Sonnenberg finished their cramp-like valley. It opens up and turns into a vast pastures; here they also flows through Heubisch. South of Sonneberg it exceeds the Thuringian- Bavarian border. Are the places Mitwitz, Marktgraitz and Redwitz, where it flows into the Unterrodach, which opens into the Main again after 2 km at its lower reaches.
