Lengths is a market town with 1110 inhabitants ( 1 January 2013 ) in the district of Melk in Lower Austria.

Geography
Lengths located in the southern Waldviertel in Lower Austria. The area of the municipality covers 28.48 square kilometers. 55.83 percent of the area is forested.

The municipality comprises the cadastral Eibetsberg in width, Eitenthal, Filsendorf, Jasenegg, Mollendorf, Mörenz, Nasting, Rafles, Seiterndorf, Streitwiesen, Tottendorf, widths and Weitersdorf.
History
In ancient times, the area was part of the province of Noricum. In the core Austrian state of Lower Austria lying the place informed the eventful history of Austria.
The municipality was created in 1968 from the merger of the municipalities widths, Mollendorf, Seiterndorf and Filsendorf.
Population Development
According to the results of the 2001 census, there were 1153 inhabitants. In 1991, the market town of 1125 inhabitants, 1180 and 1981 in 1971, 1185 inhabitants.
Policy
The council has 19 seats, mayor of the municipality is Johann Habegger, the office manager is Berta Krenn.
In the municipal elections of 2005, the ÖVP and the SPÖ reached 15 4 mandates. In the municipal elections of 2010, the SPÖ lost two seats to the ÖVP.
