Wellwater Conspiracy

Well Water Conspiracy is a rock band to Matt Cameron and John McBain. Originally the band included the former Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd, who left the band in 1998.

History

Well Water Conspiracy was founded by Matt Cameron, Ben Shepherd and John McBain 1993. The first recording sessions were held in the basement of Cameron's house. The mid-1990s, the band released two singles. In 1997, the group released their debut album, Declaration of Conformity. Shortly after, Cameron was selected to replace Jack Irons as drummer for grunge group Pearl Jam. However, Cameron and McBain decided to keep the group as a permanent side-project, and the group released three more Well Water Conspiracy albums since their debut: Brotherhood of Electric: Operational Directives (1999), The Scroll and Its Combinations (2001) and Well Water Conspiracy ( 2003).

The band's music can be described as psychedelic garage sound. Often, the band plays together with musician friends. These are keyboardist Glenn Slater of the folk-rock group The Walkabouts, Kim Thayil of Soundgarden, Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam and Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Kyuss.
