Welsh Badminton Cymru

The Welsh Badminton Cymru (WBC ) is the supreme national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in Wales. The association was founded in January 1928 and was first under the English name of Welsh Badminton Union ( WBU ) is known.

History

1927, the first Welsh Open championship and called the Welsh Badminton Union launched in January of the following year. Became the first president Trevor Williams, who should conduct the affairs of the association for the next quarter century. in July 1934 was the Welsh Badminton Union founding member of the Badminton World Federation, then known as International Badminton Federation. The Welsh Badminton Union in 1968 was also a member of the continental governing body Badminton Europe, acting at the time as European Badminton Union. Originally, the service focus in North Wales was settled, but shifted to the end of the millennium continues to the south of the country. The Welsh Badminton Cymru shifted in January 2010, its headquarters from Cardiff Bay to the Welsh Institute of Sport in Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.
