Background

In 1971, the first commercially successful Austropop Song Da Hofa appeared. 2006 was celebrated on the occasion of the 35th birthday of Hofer. Roughly speaking, the Austrian pop history goes further back in the 1950s / post-war period with Pirron & Knapp and Hans Moser and especially Anton Karas, who in his day was number 1 in the U.S. charts with Harry Lime Theme.

Documentation

The documentary shows the stories of Austropop and defines the term with questions like What is Austropop? or How far does Austropop? . Was produced documenting DoRo.

Broadcasting & prices

End of 2006, the first 6 episodes in the Thursday night broadcast on ORF 1 were the first time. From October to December 2007, repeated the ORF broadcasting the series (this time in the orf.music.night ) with two new episodes of the second season. The last part of the second season showed the ORF in May 2008. On 7 July 2011, the ORF shows a new episode of the third season, which was produced in 2011.

2008, the television series was the Romy awarded as the best television documentary.

So far, 10 DVDs and two DVD box sets have been released, each with a supplementary DVD. On these DVDs, both the documentation, as well as bonus material such as interviews and videos.
